Are Florida Boat Ramps Free? What The State Data Shows

Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026

Many are, on paper. Florida's wildlife agency (FWC) publishes a boat ramp inventory with 2,498 ramps and launches. It marks 1,710 as no fee required, 595 as fee required and 193 as unknown or not listed. The inventory does not date those entries, and we have not confirmed them by phone, so treat them as a starting point.

Where the inventory lists an amount for a fee-required ramp, the middle amount is $5, and 478 of 537 listed amounts are $10 or less. The amounts are a mix of daily, per launch, per vehicle and per hour charges, so they are not directly comparable. The ramp page shows the rate note when FWC provides one.

No fee at the ramp does not always mean no cost. Owner pages we read in 53 counties show parking fees, park admission on top of a ramp fee, resident and non-resident pricing, and annual passes. For those ramps the ramp page shows what the owner says and links to the source. Where the owner's page differs from FWC, we show both.

How to check a specific ramp: open its page on this site, read the source and the date, and call the owner if the page says not verified. If you paid something different, tell us on the Report A Change page and we will check it with the owner.
