How We Verify Every Fee

Four steps, zero estimated prices.

We do not publish a fee we have not confirmed. Here is the process.

  1. Find the rate sheet. We start from the owner's own fee schedule or website.
  2. Date it. Each fee shows the year it applies to and the day we checked.
  3. Call to confirm. We phone the owner: who operates the ramp, whether there is a launch, parking or annual pass fee, how it is paid, hours or gate times, lanes, whether kayaks and canoes may launch, size or motor limits, and whether it is closed or seasonal. Only after that call does a ramp show "Verified by phone on [date]".
  4. Review reports. Boaters can report a different fee or a closure. We re-check fee-charging ramps every year.

When we cannot confirm something, the page says "not yet verified" or "No fee published, call first". That never means a ramp is free.
