Do You Need A Pass To Launch A Boat In Florida?

It depends on who runs the ramp. Each owner whose page we read sets its own fees, passes and rules.

From the 401 ramp pages where we have read the owner's own page, the owner types fall into these groups: County or city boat ramp permits and parking, 166 ramps; State park entrance and ramp fees, 119 ramps; Federal or wildlife area permits, 103 ramps; Other owner pages, 13 ramps. Some ramps sit in more than one group, for example a county park inside a state park.

The pass is usually an annual county or city permit, a state park entry or ramp fee, a decal or sticker for residents, or a federal or wildlife area permit. Some owners charge residents and non-residents different amounts. Our break-even table compares annual passes with daily fees where an owner lists both.

We have not confirmed any of this by phone. Owners change fees, and some pages we read show no effective date, so call before you buy a pass.
