How To Read Florida Boat Ramp Fees

Published Oct 27, 2026 · Updated Oct 27, 2026

Florida's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) publishes a boat ramp inventory with 2,628 records. When we read it on Oct. 26, 2026, 640 records were marked fee-required, 1,790 were marked no fee required, and 198 were marked unknown. Of the 640 fee-required records, 580 listed an amount, most often $5.

That is a useful starting point, not a price list. The FWC layer description says it is derived from a 2009 dataset, and its entries carry no date, so we cannot tell when a fee was last checked. FWC's metadata also says the data are provided as is and are not for navigation.

On our pages, an FWC fee reads "FWC inventory lists $X (not verified; call first)". "No fee required" from FWC is not a promise that parking or a lake permit is free, and "No fee published, call first" means we found nothing to report. When an owner's own page gives a fee, we show it next to the FWC number, and we mark a ramp verified only after a phone call.

Before you drive out, check the owner's page for the ramp, then call. Report anything different at the gate with the Report A Change form so we can check it with the owner.
